☕️Bi-Weekly Brew: Los Angeles Rams Edition

Welcome back to The Dynasty Cafe for the sixteenth edition of the ☕️Bi-Weekly Brew, where I provide some special blends for YOUR specific build. We’ve officially hit the halfway point! Be sure to try out the previous Brew if you missed it! In the last edition, I talked about how great JSN is, the sneaky upside of Tory Horton, and the hidden opportunities AJ Barner has to really take a step for us fantasy managers. Of course, I also gave some trade suggestions for how to acquire them all.

Today, we wrap up our trip through not only the NFC West, but the NFC as a whole! The Rams close out the NFC today, and boy are they a fun team! The 2025 offseason didn't start off on a great foot, as rumors of QB Matthew Stafford possibly retiring due to an aggravated disk in his back swirled around social media. What started as doom and gloom for Stafford ended in a 4700 yard, 46 TD season and an MVP. In turn, his production helped create numerous fantasy heroes, including Puka Nacua (1715 yards), Davante Adams (14 TDs), and Kyren Williams (13 Total TDs). The crews back together for hopefully another electric year. This begs the question: who should we be targeting? Let’s get into some names below!

☕️Bi-Weekly Brew Themes☕️

For those that are new: welcome in! Here’s what you’ll find in each edition of the ☕️Bi-Weekly Brew:

In each brew, we will assume super flex is in play, with full point PPR and .5 TEP.

For each team, we’ll be identifying:

☕️Our House Blend: the perfect player for any build

☕️The Espresso Shot: a player to provide that high upside boost to your rebuilding team

☕️The Dark Roast: ole reliable, a player that can push a contender to its peak

☕️House Blend: Blake Corum☕️

The 25 year old RB had a fantastic career at Michigan, and was rewarded with a 3rd round Draft selection by the Rams. He didn't show much as a rookie, only accumulating 66 opportunities (rushing attempts + targets). That number more than doubled to 159 opportunities in year two, which he turned into 782 scrimmage yards and 6 touchdowns in route to forming a formidable duo with Kyren Williams. His year two touch increase led to an RB40 finish. Nothing crazy, but it is worth noting that he saw double digit carries in four of the last five games.

Is Blake going to win a title for a contender? No. However, he is a nice obtainable depth piece in an explosive offense. If we see another increase in opportunities, he could be a TD dependent flex option. Should we see Kyren miss any time, Corum immediately becomes a must start in all formats. He’s a solid insurance piece for teams ready to win now.

Rebuilders are simply getting a younger asset with a lot of tread on the tires. At worst, he’s a stash on benches and by the time the rebuild is over, he may see himself sitting atop an RB room. At best, he can be an easy flip during the season should Kyren miss time. He is a pretty low risk play that could have extremely high upside results.

What's the price of Corum? Let's take a look at a trade from the Sharp Tracker:

There were multiple instances of this trade on the Sharp Tracker and quite frankly, I'm fine with this for a rebuilder or a contender. The potential is there for Corum to rise in value, whether it be because of his own increase in workload or because of a Kyren injury. I'm comfortable trading a 2nd for Corum to either improve my RB room as a contender, or get a guy I can possibly flip for more come the middle of the season as rebuilder. If he can't be flipped, there's still long term potential for Corum to be a viable starting option. He's not a bad RB; he's just unfortunately stuck behind another solid back.

I saw many trades centering around a late 2027 2nd. Some even had 2027 or 2028 3rds/4ths thrown on. However, I think it's realistic to get a late round pick thrown on the Corum side. Will the late pick be a game changer? No. However, the late pick can be an extra dart throw for a rebuilder, and an extra trade piece a contender can use to help get a future deal across the finish line. I'll settle for only getting Corum for my 2nd, but push for a little extra on top before hitting the accept button!

☕️Espresso Shot: Max Klare☕️

I was surprised when the Rams used a 2nd round pick in the 2026 Draft to select the TE out of Purdue and OSU, but there had to be a reason…right? Max saw a decrease in stats despite playing more games when he transferred to OSU, but that was mostly due to the fact he had to compete with Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith for targets. Those guys are pretty ok I’ve heard!

If you’re acquiring Max, patience will be key. Don’t panic sell when he only has 6 catches through 5 weeks. It’s a crowded TE room, so it will take a bit for him to ascend. It may not happen this year; it may not even happen by the end of next year. Stash him on your bench as a TE dart throw. I’m trusting what the Rams are telling us: they see something with Max, and they believe in him enough to use a 2nd round pick on him a year after they used one in 2025 to take TE Terrance Ferguson. Both Max and Terrance are fine for a rebuilder to acquire. I’m going with Max solely because they used the same capital on him a year after taking Ferguson. Either they don’t like what they’re seeing in Ferguson, they think Max is special, or both will play some sort of role. Regardless, Max should see some run at some point.

Max is a cheap acquisition, as we can see from this trade below:

This is a solid trade for a rebuilder. You get off a middling TE with a lot of target competition for a 2nd in a loaded class, and get the additional value of a rookie TE in a high powered offense who has high draft capital attached to his name. Getting younger within a position group is solid for rebuilders, as it resets the clock a bit (I talked about this briefly when discussing a Ja'Marr Chase for JSN trade in the last Bi-Weekly Brew). Cash in on the value that Brenton has gained over the last couple years, and pick up draft capital with a rookie TE.

If you want to acquire Klare for picks, I saw one such instance of this, and it was Klare for a 28 2nd and 4th. This feels a little rich considering the TE room he's in. I'd pay a 3rd to acquire him, but no more than that at this time. I'd mainly be looking to get him as an add on to a trade like we see above.

☕️The Dark Roast: Kyren Williams☕️

Kyren seems to be a perennial sell candidate in the dynasty space because of his 5th round draft capital. At this point in his career, I think we can put that narrative to bed and just accept that Kyren is really good for fantasy. Since taking over the backfield in 2023, Kyren has produced three Top 10 finishes. In the 2023 season, he only played 12 game and still finished as the RB7! Kyren has everything going for him: an elite offense, solid usage, and goal line work. See the chart below for how is usage stacks up compared to some of the top backs in the league!

Could Corum start to cut into his workload this year? It’s possible. Should this come to fruition, the offense is still good enough to allow both RBs to produce for fantasy. If you need to bolster your RB room for a title push, I’d highly recommend making a move for Kyren. It may seem like a cop out to choose both Rams RBs as a good option to acquire in the same article, but there's a chance, given the explosiveness of this offense, that both are Top 24 RBs this season.

This one follows a trend we've seen a lot throughout this series: if you're pushing for a title, don't be scared to cash in draft picks for production. Even if Kyren doesn't push you to glory this year, he's signed with the Rams until 2028. That's three more years of production in a high-powered offense. Get the known commodity to help give your team a little extra firepower to achieve that sweet taste of victory. It's a simple trade that doesn't require much explanation, but it can be very effective.
